The goal of Atavist Bible Churches is provide a setting for worship, fellowship and community and discussions around common ancient Christian beliefs like the Truine Godhead, the crucified Messiah, dead, buried and raised the third day, the subjugation of the errant Israelite nation through anomalous signs, miracles and wonders, the establishment of the everlasting kingdom of God and what we can certainly expect at the end of our journey here, "an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you" (1 Peter 1:4; Revelation 14:13, 22:14)
*Return to a complete Bible which includes Old Testament, Deuterocanonicals and the New Testament, as accepted by Christians in the first 1,500 years of Christianity. Where is such a Bible to be found? The New Oxford Annotated Bible with Apocrypha, which is the Revised Standard Version would serve our churches admirably.
** An editorial committee of Atavist leaders could meet, examine and decide the content of an Atavist Worship Hymnal. Where we agree with conventional Christian sentiment things would be kept the same, but in the area of eschatology and the express hope that Jesus is right now about to come "soon" we differ and disagree with such notions and lyrics.
As an independent Christian church, Atavist Bible Churches will be able to function and missionize and instruct without the censure, acrimony and impediments which would attend our efforts were we to attempt to yoke ourselves with spiritual vested interests which are Futurist or Preterist, Arminian or Calvinist, which are essentially contrary to our interpretation of the Bible and world-view.
